MoneyLion Community Guidelines
Updated as of June 2025
Overview
MoneyLion aims to engage, entertain, educate, and empower users through curated content that inspires exploration of ideas and insights related to their financial lives. We value open dialogue, diverse perspectives, and meaningful discussions.
To foster positive and respectful interactions between users, we have established these Community Guidelines. These Community Guidelines outline what type of content is and is not permitted on the MoneyLion platform, including, but not limited to, the Discover feed, Community tab, the MoneyLion Messages feature and MoneyLion’s Customer Care channels.
These Community Guidelines apply to all types of user-generated content on the MoneyLion platform, including comments and shares. These Community Guidelines may be updated by us from time to time and should be read in connection with MoneyLion’s Terms of Service, including the terms and conditions in the section titled “User Content”.
1. Relevant and Informative Content
- Engage in constructive discussions that foster meaningful and genuine interactions. This means you must be respectful of other users and personal attacks are off-limits.
- Provide accurate and helpful information. This means your content should be relevant to the topic at hand. This includes answers to financial questions or discussions that help educate and inform others. Do not deliberately promote scams or otherwise attempt to mislead and take advantage of other users. This includes any content that contains or explicitly entertains ideas that could mislead users, worsen their situation or bait, or that are designed to deceive or trick other users.
- Influencer, creator and other content provided in the MoneyLion app is for informational and entertainment purposes only and should not be construed as legal, tax, investment, financial, or other advice.
- Avoid:
- Spamming and trolling. This includes posting the same content repeatedly, sending unsolicited messages or making inflammatory or offensive statements.
- Posting irrelevant, nonsensical, repetitive, or non-financial content. This includes content that is off-topic, does not make sense or is not easy to understand, reused user handles or artificially clicky content, like memes or videos unrelated to things in the MoneyLion app.
- Any statements that could be deemed to be giving specific advice on product usage or other direct investment or financial tips. We reserve the right to take measures to safeguard users from interacting with content which intends to shock or offer investment information.
2. Respectful and Inclusive Discussions
- Treat others with respect and courtesy, and be mindful of your language.
- Engage in discussions that encourage an exchange of ideas in a respectful manner for all users.
- Do not post or promote any content that is illegal, unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, indecent, lewd, vulgar, violent, threatening, offensive, bigoted, abusive, inflammatory, invasive of privacy or authority, vulgar, fraudulent, hateful or otherwise objectionable.
- Do not engage in, promote, or encourage harassment or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other protected status.
3. Disclosure and Transparency
- Voicing opinions is welcome, but be clear if you have a financial interest, e.g. stock ownership, in a company you mention. If you have a financial conflict or benefit of any kind, you want to share that (even if short form posts, content, or comments). We reserve the right to take users away from MoneyLion for any spam or misleading promotion.
- Do not impersonate MoneyLion staff or use any other person as a veil, including a MoneyLion affiliate, customer, influencer, etc. as supported by advertising standards for financial content.
- Only post accurate content for informational and entertainment purposes, and do not provide legal, tax, investment, financial, or other advice.
- Providing financial-related advice or recommendations or the promotion of restricted stocks is strictly prohibited on the MoneyLion platform.
4. Privacy and Security
- Respect the privacy and security of others. Do not share personal, identifiable, private, sensitive or confidential information of any other person or entity, including banking, tax information, passwords, addresses, birthdates, driver’s licenses, social references, Social Security or other identification numbers or credit cards.
- Do not post or promote any content that may infringe, violate or misappropriate any patent, trademark, brand assets, copyright or other intellectual or other right of another.
- Do not engage in activities that may compromise the security or integrity of the MoneyLion platform or its users. This includes all acts that could be considered malicious, including but not limited to phishing or hacking attempts or posting content that contains viruses, malware or any other form of destructive script.
5. Your Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and respectful community by setting a good example through your own behavior and engagement with users.
- You are also considered content or comment liable if you behave below these Community Guidelines, including any spam, troll or bot accounts. Please report them using the available reporting channels. If applicable, remove them from flagged reports and/or help maintain a safe and valuable experience for all users.
- Be mindful of your obligations to comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations and industry guidelines. This includes Federal Trade Commission guidelines.
We enforce these Community Guidelines using a combination of human reviewers, user reports and automated tools. We seek to apply these Community Guidelines fairly and consistently. We reserve the right to take any action that we deem necessary in response to violations of these Community Guidelines. This may include issuing warnings, removing content without notice, revoking access to certain features on the MoneyLion platform, and suspending or permanently banning a user account from participating in social features of the app in the event of any repeat or severe offenders. Our decisions in enforcing these Community Guidelines are final and not subject to appeal.
It is your responsibility to understand and abide by these Community Guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact MoneyLion’s Customer Care team at [email protected].
