How do you budget as a single mom with two kids?

Food pantries, I survived on 4 different ones for a whole year…though I worked as a school boy s driver back in 1996 to 2011, I made too much to not qualify for state welfare, some times I did, as m family grew, from 1 child, to 4 children as a single parent…Goodwill for cloths, along with clothes pantries, and community services help with bus transportation for myself and kids, and family and friends…it takes a village to raise a family even with both parents.

Give it to God who supply all my needs. Amen

Budgeting as a single mom with two kids isn’t some clever system you figure out—it’s the result of decisions that should’ve been thought through a lot earlier. There’s no secret formula. It’s cutting everything down to the bare minimum, constantly stressing about money, and going without—just like the kids do. I grew up in that situation, and it’s not something to romanticize or pretend you can just ‘budget’ your way through. It’s survival mode, plain and simple. If you’re there now, then all you can do is get serious about your spending, prioritize the basics, and accept that it’s going to be hard for a long time.

Please tell me? It seems nearly impossible and having to run yourself death with the cost of living so high

Put one of them to work. Life is tough so it's better to get them used to it early. If they are 5 or older it's time for some tough love.

I go to food pantries to help supplement my groceries for the month, also shopping Goodwill and St Vincent Depaul Thrift stores help stretch my dollars, and also I accumulate points every time I shop there and it totals out to money I can apply to my next purchase...ive saved so much doing this, Also check Facebook groups and marketplace, there are many groups that are giving away gently used furniture, clothes and other items for free....

Goodwill and salvation army stores have a lot of excellent deals and they offer services to parents with children in need.

Shop sales & clearance only. For clothes almost every store has a clearance rack. Shop out of season. Sweaters coats boats are on sale now. Use apps like quad pay. Use the apps for EVERY store you shop at. Talk to the butcher at your local Shoprite etc. Mangers specials go out every morning. Get their schedule. Use family dollar or dollar general app for household supplies & occasionally clothes. $10 off $30 only on Saturdays. Clip all coupons. I have more..

Times are hard but saving Is the best for us all in
Families forward food pantry, budget & find cheaper grocery stores. File online for snap program which provides food assistance. FInd lower rent housing but in a safe neighborhood with schools close by. Goodluck.
It can definitely be challenging, but not impossible. Thrift stores or other secondhand stores or websites/apps can be great places to find clothing, home goods, etc. for reasonable prices. I agree with what the other comments say.
Echoing what other have said, sales are your friend. Shopping out of season also helps to save money for clothing. Learn how to sew if clothing needs adjustments. Picked up crochet as well to make things from yarn for winter beanies and gloves as well. Some stores have great "loyalty" programs for discounts to pair up with sales.
Be sure to also plan meals that are filling and easy to prepare, it might save on grocery expenses..
I go to goodwill fix and find new things then resell them on fb market place that's my side hustle on weekends then I would suggest usong the internet to sell and buy things also if your job has a 401k profit sharing plan I would recommend getting on that ASAP I put 8 percent of my check in and my job matches me I have put 1.3k in it and within 1.5 years its up to 8k the best thing about it is you can barrow up to 2 loans from it without penalties and you just pay yourself back with interest essentially you are your own bank but be cautious this is a tool of you mismanage your funds you can end up on the bad side of it
