I have a question for anyone who can give me a legit answer: Is it true that if I ask my bank to reimburse me for all the overdraft fees charged to my account, they’ll actually do it?

I thought banks were not supposed to charge overdraft fees. I told my bank to not pay so I wouldn’t get overdraft fees. They still do it. But I did notice that if I put money in within a day they will reverse the overdraft charge.

Navy Federal will do it every month without you asking.

Yes, most banks will if you ask. There is though a limit to how many per month or year.

I got a couple of overdraft fees removed at my bank by just calling and asking them to. Only can get a couple per year

Chase has always refunded my od fees, but I think they allow a certain amount each year. I just call customer service & ask. The worst that can happen is they say no 🤷‍♀️

Santander does. I used to get 2 or 3 returned a month. It was made public that some financial institutions made a large profit from the overdraft fees alone some years back and Santander sent me a few hundred dollars right around Xmas that i didn’t expect. It was great. Just be courteous most banks will help.

I honestly didn’t know anything about this so I gave it a try just now. Wells Fargo does for first time courtesy refund. $70 back in my account now thanx to this post.😆

Most banks will do a couple as a courtesy… depends on your situation and why the overdraft happened in the first place.

I've seen Wells Fargo do it before. He just called customer service and asked them.

Wells Fargo Bank Will charge 3 fees a month max but once they do I've only been able to get one fee reversed.

I’m going to be humble as possible and just say please,……. WILL RETURN THE KINDNESS!

Follow up question to my original one. I also get reimbursement for overdraft fees if I deposit the amount needed to cover it before the same day is over. What I really wanted to know is if they would reimburse for all of the overdraft fees that were charged to the account from the whole year, or whatever time frame that I would ask

You might get some back, but not all of it

Never ever heard of that

If you are an honest bank member and have caused not to many issues they will usually give you back a few. What I mean by that is, if you go overdrawn because of a small bill you forgot about or simply to over your limit and catch it within that month they will kindly waive them and deposit it back. It has happened to me 6 times in the past 3 months. I had two that had to stick around because I did not have the funds back I time. But, short answer is they will usually work with you.

I don't believe that they will cause i asked chime and they don't and I asked the brinks money Republic bank and trust company they didn't pay
The only time I have ever gotten anything back from the bank was when I reported strange payments on my account that I didn't make and they investigate it and find fraud was the cause never because i ask them to no matter what the reason is they keep it. Good luck !
