Going through the loss of 2 brothers within 3 months after being categiver for one was wearing emotionally physically and financially my focus was skewed just now trying to get back to living and taking care of business this past year was the most challenging of my life so far but I'm grateful for this forum and for my faith in God

I find that the poll showing only 5% feel secure in their financial matters, a bit shocking. Why are we so afraid to our confidence in everyday Money Matters. 30 yrs ago I was a in a state of credit card delusional, nightmare mode. I charged so many Items as if I was made of money. That certainly wasn't the case then, it's a great deal better today, but I thought myself finally how to properly use a charge card. This wasn't an easy learn by no means. A lot of trail and error on my part. And man did I have a lot of errors!! Binge buying, like binge drinking or similar and dangerous. Not careful you're going to mess yourself up pretty bad. So I slowly asked myself do I really need that new watch, or should I go out to eat for a third time this week? We ask ourselves these type questions and if not careful we'll go overboard. Once I learned that and that cooking saves so much money, going out once a week became even more special.

I've had tough times on and off before but it seems now once you get close to good the prices go up AGAIN. But the pay doesn't. A steak at grocery store was $32.00. I kid you not!
