Go online and message the dealerships before you go there. Tell them your credit, payment you are comfortable with, and down payment (if any) you can pay. Worked for me twice. My credit was like 550 and I got a brand new car for like $386ish a month no down payment. Since they know your credit up front, it takes all the guessing out of it. Don’t let them trick you into going up on your payment though. Stand firm.

Keep using the credit cards to pay the bills that you pay on time every month and then put the money back on the card instead of paying it directly to the company you owe.

You said you're in the market for a NEW car. So im assuming you're not looking for anything used, because with that you're options are more open. But we will look to the new car. 601 score is not horrible by no means. There are car dealerships out there that will work with you about anyway under the sun. Monthly payments all the way to weekly. As with any loan, the better the credit score the better the interest rate so I still don't see you having to pay a fortune to drive away in a sweet ride. So I recommend to look around al the different dealerships and ask a lot of questions. Take a friend who has knowledge in automobile cost and repair to make sure your looking at something nice. Also some of the warranties they offer now, especially on new cars are outstanding. Good luck!!

Me too, following! For those of you that used Carvana or similar, did you apply for Loan or Lease? I heard leasing is maybe easier to get approved for and more affordable than a car loan with poor credit. I also would be looking to trade in the one I own as a down payment. I also don’t drive much since I work remotely but really can’t depend on mine to go far and I can’t afford the repairs 🫣

I used Carvana. I’ve had my car and almost the year.

Keep building credit, look for a long term rental to hold you over. When you’re ready to start rate shopping you have 14 days to make hard credit pulls so you can shop around and it reports as a single event. Get your own rates from credit unions to compare with the rates the dealership pulls. Good luck!!

Look up rent to own vehicles!

I bought a new car at a higher interest rate due to my bad credit through identy theft. I made payments for one year plus other credit building things. Then, I refinanced at a much lower rate.

Well, you are being limited to what you can get on credit. So you may have to take out a high interest loan in case you do get approved but with a higher interest rate unfortunately. After you get approved and you will with a credit score of 600 however it will be expensive at first. I was in desperate need of transportation for my family so I went to a dealership that I thought would provide me a loan. Well, with my score at 600 I did qualify for a car loan with the greedy car salesman looking to make a commission on you. So I had no choice but to except that high interest loan and hope to refinance the loan after creating some payment history usually about six months worth with out being late. I went from a $508 payment to more competitive refinanced loan to a newly refinanced $330 a month. But I did wait for a year to pass so I can get an even better offer to refinance my auto loan. It does cost some fees but they are small and included in the loan. I hope this info helps you but you have to understand that your payment will stay the same for at least six months. I waited a little longer about a year before I refinanced so I could get a better rate. Good luck 🍀 to you!
What's your budget? If you don't mind the question
I used a buy here pay here lot. Yes, my interest rate is higher than I’d like it to be but with no co-signer with my credit score I’ll take it! My payments are bi-weekly of 355.57. I’ve got a 2017 Buick envision.
Start using these apps like Kikoff it will help boost your credit in no time wait until your credit gets to at least 660 preferably the 700 big preferably , then go to a dealer . Try and get your loan however from a credit union if you can . The higher the credit obviously the lower the apr
