How to Cancel Your MoneyLion Membership

How can I cancel my Credit Builder Plus Membership

You can cancel your Credit Builder Plus membership at any time, and you’ll never have to pay any fees as long as your Credit Builder Plus loan has been paid in full.  

Once you’re ready to cancel your Credit Builder Plus membership, follow these easy steps on the MoneyLion app.

  1. Click on your profile picture (It’s probably in the top left corner of your screen.)
  2. Tap “membership”
  3. Tap “manage my membership” 
  4. Tap “Cancel”

If you are unable to cancel, it’s likely because you have an active loan with MoneyLion that you haven’t paid off. In order to cancel your MoneyLion loan, you’ll need to go to the “Loans” tab on the MoneyLion app and pay the loan off in full.

How do I cancel my Instacash Membership?

There is no monthly membership fee with Instacash, so there’s nothing to cancel. You can simply start and stop at any time you’d like! Just make sure to pay off what you owe before you go.

How do I close my RoarMoney account?

To close your RoarMoneySM banking account, you may contact MoneyLion customer service through our Chatbot in the MoneyLion app or at 844-224-0087

To remove your funds and effectively close your RoarMoney account, simply transfer your entire balance to another bank account. Here’s how:

  1. Open the MoneyLion app and tap the Transfers button
  2. Select your RoarMoney account as the “From” account
  3. Select your desired bank account as the “To” account
  4. Enter your entire balance as the transfer amount
  5. Confirm your transaction

You’ll also want to cut up your MoneyLion Debit Mastercard® for your security, and you can lock your virtual card and physical card in the app to effectively close them. 

To lock your debit cards:

  1. Open the MoneyLion app and go to the Finances tab
  2. Tap on your RoarMoney account
  3. Tap on your virtual card 
  4. Toggle the Lock card button to Locked
  5. Repeat this process to lock your physical card

If you withdraw your funds and lock your cards (vs calling customer service to close your account), it’s easy to reactivate your account if you change your mind. You’d simply need to return to the app and add funds. You would be able to unlock and use your virtual card and request a new physical debit card in the mail at no charge^ by tapping “Replace card” in the app.

However, if you call customer service to fully close your account, you will not be able to reactivate later. You would have to go through the process of opening a new account when you’re ready.

How can I delete the MoneyLion app?

Looking to remove the MoneyLion app from your phone and deactivate your account? It’s simple to do. Take a look at the steps.

  1. Delete the app from your mobile device
  2. If you choose to cancel your MoneyLion membership completely beyond removing the app from your mobile device, simply call 844-224-0087.
  3. If you have any questions or face any problems, you can call MoneyLion’s customer support center.

Know that if you have a loan or Instacash due, you will still be required to pay any outstanding amounts and fees that you owe even if you cancel or delete the MoneyLion app from your phone.

How do I cancel Auto Invest?

Auto Invest is another feature that users may want to pause or cancel. Keep in mind that Auto Invest automatically skips scheduled deposits if your account is at risk for an overdraft. Follow these simple steps to pause/cancel Auto Invest.

  1. Open the MoneyLion app and head to the Finances tab.
  2. Click on your investment account
  3. Scroll down and tap “Auto Invest”
  4. Tap the “Active” button to turn Auto Invest ON, OFF, or pause.
  5. Looking to delete Auto Invest entirely? Hit the bottom tab “Delete Auto Invest”

Expect to receive a confirmation pop-up that clarifies you have successfully paused or deleted Auto Invest. Remember, you can always reactivate Auto Invest at any time.
