3 Cable TV and Internet Bundles That Could Cut Your Bill by $600 a Year

Paying separately for internet, cable and a pile of streaming subscriptions can get pretty expensive. If your combined bill has crept upward, it might be time to switch providers or consolidate services.

Many providers offer cable TV and internet bundles, but which one gives you the best bang for your buck?

Here are three options worth comparing if you want to cut your bill by up to $600 a year.

Cox’s 2 Gig internet plan plus TV Lite currently starts at $110 per month, compared to its regular price of $189 a month. In other words, you’re saving $79 every month for 12 months, or $948 in a year. With this package, you get up to 2 GBPS of download speeds as well as 60 top cable channels.

If you don’t need that high of a download speed, you can also choose the lower-cost package that includes 500 Mbps internet plus TV Lite for $70 per month, a $59 monthly discount from its original price of $129.

If you’re a customer with Optimum, you could save up to $30 per month, or $360 per year, by bundling internet, mobile and TV instead of subscribing to each separately. The package includes Entertainment TV and comes with a five-year price lock on internet plans. When you bundle, you can also get a $200 prepaid card.

Note that the offer isn’t available in all areas, and you also have to meet certain eligibility requirements.

Spectrum lets you build a bundle by combining internet with TV, streaming, mobile, or all three. Its internet plans currently start at $30 per month for 100 Mbps and up to $60 per month for 1 GB.

If you want both internet and TV, you can bundle the two to get a discount as well as an internet price guaranteed for two years. For example, when you bundle the $30 per month internet plan with its $40 per month TV plan, you get $10 off per month.

The bigger discounts come with faster internet and larger TV packages. Spectrum’s recommended Internet Premier + TV Select Signature bundle costs $130 per month for two years, compared with a listed $150, so you’re saving $20 per month or $240 a year. It includes 500 MBPS internet, advanced Wi-Fi, over 150 channels, and streaming apps.
