4 Fall Pantry Staples You Can Get Cheaper at Costco

Fall's expensive. Between back-to-school costs, holiday prep creeping up and the sudden urge to bake everything with cinnamon, your grocery bills can spike faster than a pumpkin spice demand chart.
But here's the thing: while everyone else is overpaying for seasonal staples at Target and Walmart, there's an easier move. Costco's already loaded with fall favorites — and they're significantly cheaper per ounce than the competition. We're talking real savings, not just feel-good bulk-buy vibes.

Ready to stack your pantry without draining your wallet? We asked Elisabella Ricca, personal finance and consumer analyst at TopCashback, which fall essentials hit different at Costco. Here are the four items worth snagging on your next Costco trip.
Find Out: The Best Costco Buys To Grab Now For Fall
Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Ricca admitted that for some shoppers, pumpkin spice lattes are a fall essential, which is why Costco is the place to go for all things pumpkin spice.
“Costco offers a 12-pack of La Colombe pumpkin spice latte canned drinks for $22.99,” Ricca found. Target sells the same pumpkin spice latte canned drinks in a 4-pack for $9.49.
She said, “Buying 12 cans at Target would cost $28.47, making Costco $5.48 cheaper.”
Snacks
Ricca highlighted that fall means back-to-school and busier work schedules, making individual snack bags convenient for lunches, which is why it is important to have your pantry stocked for all your hungry family members.
“The Grab & Go sweet and salty variety pack at Costco costs $17.99 for 36 bags, or about 50 cents per bag,” Ricca stated. A similar pack is available at Walmart — the Grab & Go family favorites variety pack with 18 bags — but it costs $9.97, or $0.55 per bag.
Pumpkin Granola
“Pumpkin granola can add a fall twist to your breakfast or lunch,” said Ricca.
Costco is currently selling a 35.3-ounce bag of Nature's Path organic pumpkin seed flax granola for $11.89 while at Target, a smaller, 24.7-ounce bag of the pumpkin seed flax granola costs $8.79.
When you break it down per ounce, Costco is only charging $0.34 while Target charges $0.36. So, you might as well pay less per ounce at Costco and get over 10 extra ounces.
Chocolate Candies
If you're a chocolate lover, Costco should be your first stop when shopping for your craving fix.
Target sells the Nutty and Fruity Dubai Milk Chocolate Bars in a 6.35-ounce bag for $9.99. While that price isn't bad for a one-time snack, Costco's 16-ounce bag of Nutty and Fruity Dubai Milk Chocolate Bars gives you more bang for your buck. And you're only paying $0.89 per ounce, which is nearly half of the $1.57 that Target charges.
“If you plan to enjoy them throughout the fall, Costco offers the better value per ounce,” Ricca added.
