6 Sam's Club Grocery Items That Can Save You Hundreds of Dollars Annually

The cost of living is surging and millions of us just can’t keep up. We need to save money on everything, especially essentials.
One tried and true method of trimming expenses is a membership with a warehouse club like Sam’s Club. Even with the annual fee — typically $60 a year for basic access, unless they’re running a sale for new enrollees — families can spend far less than they would when shopping at Target or, perhaps surprisingly given its reputation for competitive pricing, Amazon.

Member's Mark Laundry Detergent Ultimate Clean
Laundry detergent is a household staple that is extravagantly expensive, but more reasonably priced at Sam’s Club than at other stores. Elisabella Ricca, personal finance and consumer analyst at TopCashback USA recommended purchasing Member's Mark laundry detergent ultimate clean.
“It’s a smart buy at $16.98,” Ricca said. “The bottle is 218 fluid ounces and delivers 166 loads. Purchasing the comparable amount of Tide at Target would require buying two 100 fluid ounces bottles at a total cost of $32, almost double the price.”
Member’s Mark Free and Clear Dishwasher Detergent Gel
Dishwasher detergent is another must-have that can run up a diabolical tab, especially if you’re going for a chemical-free version.
“Member's Mark free and clear dishwasher detergent gel costs $9.88 compared to more than $26.99 for the 128 fluid ounces Ginger Lily Farms Plant-Based Dishwasher Detergent Gel on Amazon, creating savings of over $17 on a single purchase,” Ricca said.
Member’s Mark Donut Shop Medium Roast Coffee Pods
Keurigs are terrible for the planet but can be cheaper for those of us not up for the task of brewing coffee from scratch. But those Keurig pods still add up over time. You can save money by buying them at Sam’s Club.
“Sam's Club offers 100-count Member's Mark donut shop medium roast coffee pods for $32.98.”
Over at Amazon, a 72-count of the same item is nearly the same price, $29.88. That’s far fewer pods for almost the same price.
Member's Mark Rotisserie Chicken
Been to your local grocery store lately? It’s not unusual to find fresh rotisserie chickens selling for $9. Not the case at Sam’s Club.
“Just a little less than $5 gets you a full [rotisserie chicken] that will be sufficient for several days' worth of lunches and dinners,” said Clay Cary, senior trends analyst at CouponFollow.
Member's Mark Adult Multivitamin Gummies
We all need to take our vitamins and unfortunately, that means shelling out an absurd amount of money if we shop on Amazon, which vends Vitafusions Multivites Gummies 260-count for $29.95.
"Member's Mark adult multivitamin gummies provide 260 gummies for $10.78, which works out to about 4 cents per gummy,” Ricca said.
Member's Mark Power Flex Tall Kitchen Trash Bags
Funny how even trash is expensive — when you factor in the price of kitchen trash bags. But you’ll save a ton buying these at Sam’s Club instead of Amazon.
“Sam’s Club offers a 200-count box of 13-gallon kitchen fresh-scent trash bags for $18.98,” Ricca said.
And what does Amazon charge for basically the same trash bags, but less of them (160-count box)? $38.99.
