I Audited My Subscriptions for Just 30 Minutes: 5 Charges I'm Glad I Found

Forgotten subscriptions cost consumers an average of $133 more than they realize a month, according to a study by C+R Research. Turns out, I was no exception. After a quick audit, I realized I was wasting nearly $100 a month on subscriptions I didn't need.
Here's what I found.

Look Out! 5 Signs You’re Losing Money Every Month — and How To Find the Leaks
1. VPN
I remember signing up for a VPN free trial after seeing one of my favorite YouTubers recommend it on his channel. The VPN worked fine, but I ended up choosing a different tool that offered more value for the price. I completely forgot to cancel the free trial, though, so it auto-renewed, and I've been paying $9 per month for the past two months without using it.
2. YouTube Analytics Tool
The YouTube analytics tool was really helpful when I first started my YouTube channel because it helped me research keywords and perform competitor analysis. However, now that I've found my niche, it no longer provides much value. So during this audit, I decided to cancel the $7.55 subscription and redirect that money toward tools I actually use.
3. AI Tool
I saw an ad for an AI avatar generator tool on Instagram and thought I'd sign up and see what it's all about. After playing around with it for a day, I realized that its features and capabilities aren't as good as I thought they'd be. I forgot to cancel the subscription again and ended up paying $9 per month for the past three months.
4. Coursera
Coursera offers many certificate programs starting at $49.99 per month. I signed up for one a month ago and thought I'd be able to complete the program within the seven-day free trial, but the course was much more rigorous than I expected. I eventually forgot about the $49 per month charge and ended up paying for multiple months without making real progress. I'm glad I checked and audited my subscriptions because this could've cost me over $500 over the course of a year.
5. Wix Website
I built a Wix website last year for a side hustle, but ended up abandoning it and hiring someone on Upwork to create a completely different site instead. And because I didn't keep track of my subscriptions, I forgot to cancel this one as well, which means I've been wasting $24 every month.
