“Vitamins are one of my favorite things to buy in bulk versus the drugstore because you can really save that way,” stated Elisabella Ricca, personal finance and consumer analyst at TopCashback. “You tend to pay a premium buying vitamins at the drugstore, but can get a deal at wholesale retailers like Costco. Larger quantities mean lower cost per vitamin, as well as the added bonus that you’ll have to replace the bottles less often.”

Ricca pointed out that Costco absolutely wins when it comes to adult multivitamin gummies.
“Costco sells a 320-count bottle of Kirkland Signature Adult Multivitamins for $16.99, which comes out to 5 cents per gummy,” explained Ricca. “CVS sells a 150-count bottle of Vitafusion Gummy Vitamins for nearly the same price—$16.79. Their per-gummy cost is more than double at 11 cents.”

When it comes to calcium, Ricca highlighted how Costco offers a great value that drugstores cannot beat.
According to Ricca, at Costco a “500-count bottle of Kirkland Signature Calcium 600 mg with Vitamin D3 is $12.99 right now. A comparable option at CVS is Nature Made Calcium 600 mg with Vitamin D3, which costs $24.49 for 220 tablets. That’s roughly 8 cents less per tablet at Costco.”
Vitamin B12
“At Costco, a 400-count bottle of Nature Made Vitamin B12 1,000 mcg softgels is $28.99, coming out to 7 cents per softgel,” Ricca shared, adding that CVS carries the same brand and dosage in a smaller 90-count bottle for $19.79, or 22 cents per softgel.
Ricca noted that means shoppers will save roughly 15 cents per softgel when they purchase these vitamins from Costco.
Vitamin C
Ricca pointed out that Costco offers an incredible deal for chewable vitamin C, where a 500-count bottle of Kirkland Signature Chewable Vitamin C 500 mg is available for $17.99 right now, making it 4 cents per tablet.
“At CVS, a 150-count bottle of Nature Made Vitamin C Chewable Tablets 500 mg costs $26.49, or 17.7 cents per tablet,” Ricca described. “Overall, buying vitamins at Costco instead of the drugstore can save shoppers roughly 50% to 80% per unit in these examples. If you consistently buy vitamins, these savings can really add up over time.”
