Pinterest Side Hustle: How I Make $2K a Month With Just 2 Hours a Week

Alcide Deschesnes, founder and CEO of ONE Club Trainer, said that while managing his business full time, he started a Pinterest side hustle focused on fitness and body mechanics, including mobility training, muscle activation, and movement patterns.
He said it started as a way to share what he knew then turned into an income source that now requires much less time.

“The business is now bringing me more than $2,000 monthly, with two hours of work a week,” he added.
How It Works
Anyone who’s created Pinterest pins for their own content knows it can take time to design the graphics, write the pin titles and descriptions, test different formats, and publish consistently.
Deschesnes said that, at first, he put in around eight to 10 hours a week making content, experimenting with pin formats and learning what helped his pins get traction.
Now, he spends a fraction of that time -- about two hours every Sunday -- batch-creating four to six pins and scheduling them through Tailwind.
“That’s it,” he said. “The system runs itself the rest of the time.”
Pros and Cons of His Pinterest Side Hustle
Deschesnes said that one major advantage of his Pinterest side hustle is the semi-passive income. He explained that a mobility breaks pin he made over a year ago continues to attract visitors weekly, producing commissions from his Amazon Associates and TRX links without much additional work.
“My average monthly commission from both affiliate programs is around $2,100, with 60% of that amount coming from pins I created in the first year,” he added.
One disadvantage, he said, is that the first few months can feel slow. He said that for the first four months after he started his Pinterest side hustle, his traffic was essentially flat. After six months, his clicks started to increase steadily. By the ninth month, his income reached $2,000.
His Advice
According to Deschesnes, anyone interested in using Pinterest to drive traffic to a blog or website should focus on evergreen content that addresses one clear issue.
He also recommended batching content one week at a time and using automated tools to avoid getting overwhelmed. Finally, he said it’s important to choose a topic you understand well because specific content tends to perform better on Pinterest than generic content.
