4 Same-Day Pay Jobs: How To Get Quick Cash

Landing a side gig that pays well is a good step to boosting your income — but landing one that pays the same day you work is even better.

Like all great side hustles, the following jobs offer flexible hours, the freedom to pick and choose which gigs you want and don’t want and low barriers to entry that make them available to just about anyone. Best of all, those who take them can collect their cash within 24 hours of putting in the effort — in many cases, payment comes in just a few hours or even minutes.

If you need fast cash and reliable work, consider these instant-gratification side gigs

Uber and Lyft are still the best opportunities for quick, day-of-work cash payments for anyone with an insured vehicle, a valid driver's license and who meets the basic qualifications to be a rideshare driver.

Lyft Direct is a business debit card that provides instant payouts after every ride with no fee. Additional benefits include mobile banking, cash back rewards on gas and EV charging and budgeting and savings tools.

Uber Instant Cash-Out provides free automatic weekly direct deposit, but for a small fee, the company pays out earnings immediately to a bank account or debit card.

Like rideshare gigs, grocery and food delivery work is available to the driving masses and the payout can be immediate. The major platforms pay standard weekly direct deposit automatically for free, but offer the following options to get paid the same day or even multiple times a day.

DoorDash Fast Pay provides one payment per day for a small fee. With a DoorDash Crimson account and debit card, drivers get free instant payouts deposited directly into their accounts after every dash.

For a modest fee, Instacart Instant Cash-Out allows drivers to cash out their batch pay within minutes of a delivery and their full pay, including tips, two hours after a drop-off.

GrubHub pays every Thursday automatically and for free, but Instant Cash Out provides payment on demand to your bank account. The service is free for Chase customers and 50 cents for other banks.

For a nominal fee, Uber Eats Instant Pay lets drivers cash out whenever they want, up to six times per day.

According to ZipRecruiter, pet sitters earn an average of $15 an hour, while the average hourly rate for dog walkers is $16. Many animal lovers who make their passion pay as independent contractors operate under informal arrangements where clients pay directly through a service like Zelle or Venmo.

Those who provide their services through an online platform may or may not have access to same-day payment, depending on their app of choice. For example, Rover pays two days after each service with no option for instant payout. By contrast, its competitor Wag! pays weekly, but its Stripe Instant Pay program pays out within 30 minutes for $1.99.

Cater-waitering has long been a side gig with flexible scheduling that allows just about anyone to pick up shifts when needed for some quick side money. Unfortunately, payment generally follows a weekly or bi-weekly schedule.

However, the ShiftNOW platform is much faster, with most businesses paying within 24 hours of a gig and all paying within 48 hours. Those who need cash right away can choose the Instant Payout feature to get their wage immediately for a fee of 3% of the balance. Work opportunities include hotels, golf courses, events, catering, restaurants and bars.
